Basically, life is cyclical. Day disolves into night and turns back into day as the sun rises. One season gradually gives way to the next. As the time runs, new people are born and old ones die. The continuous succession of birth, death and rebirth infiltrates nature even though our own lives seem linear. So it's no surprise that some ancient observers looked at the apparent unshaded of human existence and decided that life, like the natural world, might actually be more cyclical than linear. Multiple religions, philosophies and movements adopted this belief in cyclic life, or reincarnation.

The faith in reincarnation is predominant in two common religions from India: Jainism and Sikhism. Jain proponents believes that the soul accumulates karma as an actual physical substance, unlike the conceptual Hindu idea of karmic law. As long as the soul is encumbered by karmic particles, it must bind with a body, initiating a series of rebirths. Only when a soul is free from all karma can it exit the cycle of reincarnation and join other disembodied souls in a state of perfection. However, because Jain followers believe that disposal is currently impossible, devoted adherents simply keep on purification.

Question of reincarnation is so interesting.
And most of all for what is curiously for me: are we (family, relatives, lovers) meet and mix in our lives? Do we travel hand to hand through lives. Can children become parents? Do we always marry the same souls?

Hi everyone. I actually do not agree with all these religions that accept the idea of reincarnations. Ok, let's say there is such a thing as reincarnation and always was. At the begining of the world there were, say 100 people. They gave birth to other 100. The question is where did those 100 souls come from? Who were they? This is completely illogical. And now there are 7 billion people on the planet. The question remains the same, where did they come from? Did those old souls divide somehow?
I'm looking forward someone to explain me, but logically :)

The Buddha was saying: "If you want to know that you were doing in your past life, look at your present condition. If you want to know your future, look at yours today's actions".
The reincarnation theory helps to believe in immortality. It helps to concern the most difficult situations without fear. If you already repeatedly was born and died, you have nothing to be afraid.
The knowledge about our past lives is hidden from us. Maybe it can slow down our growth- the past memories could be imposed on the today's situation and interfere our present activities.
Anyway, it would be really interesting to know something about our past incarnations. Psychotherapists are saying that such memories can arise under impression of any similar event to the situation in former life or during travelling to other countries. Memories can appear in the time, when the person wakes up and is still between the dream and the reality.
These old memories influence us much more strongly than we think. Parapsychologists and the psychotherapists trusting in reincarnation consider that reasons of various illnesses, depressions and fears could be found in our previous lives.
People who in a previous life were hanged or strangled are often sick with asthma, those who suffered physical torture or injury - diseases of of bones, muscles. Claustrophobia, fear of enclosed space, can affect people who were imprisoned in their previous incarnation. Hydrophobia occurs in those cases when person was drowned in the water. In general people usually feel an inexplicable fear of objects which once served as the cause of their death.
At one moment we can find that we have some skills, which we have never learned before or that we have huge interest to some place, where we have never been. We feel ourselves very comfortable with people, who used to be our friends in the past life.
If people could realize that there we are living not the first and not the last time on the Earth, they would feel themselves more comfortable and calm. They would understand that it is not necessary to catch everything at any cost in this life. That they have life not for running on the 24/7 rhythm, but for enjoying it. The chance will come.
